The senior class was the winner of our annual Coin War to raise money for Toys for Tots. Their reward was a little delayed by a snow day and winter break but they were delighted to come back to decorate and eat Merten's Farm Market cookies! What a great treat between exams!
It’s exam week at Shelby High School and not all of our classes give pencil and paper exams. Technical Math students test their measurement and problem solving skills today to wrap up their semester! Good luck to all of our Tigers the rest of the week on their finals!

Our High School Student Council sponsored our annual Toys for Tots coin war this past week and raised $1644.66 which they combined with the Elementary and Middle School Buildings for a grand total of $4259.97!! Student Council members from all 3 buildings then got together with Jim and Sheila Carlson and shopped for toys for our local children on Monday night! Mr. Carlson was able to kick in some extra donations allowing our students to shop with over $6000 and purchase over 600 toys and items for our local families! Combine that with other toy donations and our Shelby district donated more than 650 toys! Student council members from all 3 buildings got up bright and early to showcase their good work on WZZM13! What a great Pride of Tigers we have here supporting our community!

Please help us in wishing Ella Silva good luck as she performs and auditions for State Solo and Ensemble and represents the fine talent that Shelby High School has to offer. She will be performing at Caledonia High School on Saturday, Dec. 6th @ 4pm alongside 120 other students from other schools in Region A. Good luck Ella Silva! You make us proud!!
Attention Seniors!
Personal Finance class was visited by Donna Brumm from Harbor Light Credit Union who shared a variety of financial service information with our seniors. Thank you again to Miss Donna for taking the time yesterday morning to increase our financial literacy!
Last week on November 14th, Shelby band and choir students departed on an educational trip to Nashville, TN. During this trip, they performed outside the Country Music Hall of Fame, recorded a piece in historical RCA Studio B, toured museums, and visited the local scenery and shops such as the Opry Mills Mall and the Parthenon! Students returned this week on Monday November 17th and are now getting ready for our Holiday Performances.
We are extremely grateful for our Shelby Band Boosters, who provided our trip T-shirts, and fundraised at our concession events to provide meal stipends for our students. If you're interested in joining our Shelby Band Boosters, reach out to Mrs. Ray, we'd love to have you!
Personal Finance students took a chilly walk to Shelby State Bank to extend their learning on financial services, budgeting, loans and all things physical banking has to offer! Special thanks to Kayla, Michelle, Deanna and Miriam for taking time out of their busy day for our Shelby Tigers!
The following Seniors have earned an academic honor from the National Recognition Program for their strong performance on CollegeBoard assessments and hard work in class. Garrett Birkhofer, Bailey Dickman, Miguel Fraga-Burgos, Greg Frees, Brylee Friedman, Yelena Gonzalez-Ambrosio, Josephine Kirker and Laney Stovall. Congratulations Tigers!
On Saturday November 8th, our HS band students have a SPECTACULAR performance prepared for you! We start the evening with local desserts and our own Shelby Jazz Band, followed by a choreographed indoor marching show right in our auditorium. This event also includes our end of the marching season video, percussion feature, colorguard feature, and senior recognition with parents on stage. We want that auditorium full of family and community members!
