Position:                     STUDENT SUCCESS FACILITATOR - Two Positions

                                    (1) Shelby High School, (1) Shelby Middle School

                                   

Qualifications:           Experience working with At-Risk students,Bachelor Degree preferred.

 

 Reports to:                Building Principal

 

Responsibilities:       Communicates with staff to identify at-risk students and their needs

·         Coordinates with the Guidance Office and Administration  to identify resources and other support for at-risk students.

·         Facilitates coaching appointments with at-risk students and follows up on interventions.

·         Serves as a role model and motivates at-risk students to achieve goals

·         Refers at-risk students to the Guidance Office and Administration for conflict resolution strategies to help with difficulties that impede their educational progress

·         Schedules and attends meetings (ie. intervention meetings, parent/teacher meetings, etc.) for the purpose of gathering and dissemination information, as well as to provide training to parents of students identified as being at-risk.

·         Works with faculty, school counselors, and administrators to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of identified at-risk students

·         Contact parent/guardians of at-risk students for the purpose of building the program and keeping track of student progress

·         Maintains an at-risk student database for keeping track of interventions and the progress of the student.

·         Monitors at-risk student for the purpose of determining appropriate interventions.

·         Implement a responsible thinking program to assist students in navigating appropriate class room behaviors
